Position Summary

Responsible for ordering all products needed for the store and special orders from customers. This includes submitting orders, following up on tracking for delivery, and assisting the customers at check out. Incumbents will also maintain inventory levels for the store’s needs, work with the instructional programs to ensure proper levels of inventory are on hand for students and will communicate with customers items available for quick purchase request fulfillment. This position works under the direction of the Bookstore Manager.

Essential Functions

1. Responsible for ordering all products needed for the store, the backroom, and special orders from customers. This includes creating the purchase requests, follow-up in tracking orders, and charging customers.
2. Maintain inventory levels being held in the backroom and for the store shelves. This includes maintaining price labels on products and ensuring they are in the system accurately.
3. Work with instructional programs to determine necessary student needs for books and supplies in relation to on-hand inventory levels.
4. Prepare, maintain, and provide order guide for quick purchase request fulfillment. Keep the guide up to date and available for customers to order from.
5. Manage tracking processes for surveys, curriculum access codes, and other student data.
6. Responsible for maintaining the student financial aid function in the point-of-sale system for students and interdepartmental purchases. Coordinate with the financial aid and fiscal offices to ensure policy and procedures are met.
7. Expected to help with inventory counts throughout the year and as often as deemed necessary by management. This will include end of year inventory count and cycle counts intermittently through the year.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:
1. High School Diploma and one year of cash handling and customer service experience.
2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
3. Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat DC, specifically how to combine and edit files.
4. Must possess a professional demeanor and dress.
5. Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
6. Work well in a team environment.
7. Maintain strict confidentiality and professional discretion regarding sensitive and proprietary information.

Physical Requirements:
1. Climbing: Includes ladders, stepping stools, ramps, etc.
2. Stooping: Bending downward and forward at the waist. Requires full use of lower extremities and back muscles.
3. Kneeling: Resting on knee or knees.
4. Crouching: Bending downward and forward at the leg and spine.
5. Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
6. Standing: For extended time periods.
7. Pushing: Using upper body to press against something with steady force.
8. Pulling: Using upper body to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects.
9. Lifting: Occurs frequently and requires substantial use of upper body and back muscles.
10. Finger Dexterity: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
11. Grasping: Using fingers and palm on an object.
12. Talking: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
13. Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
14. Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products or operate machinery.
15. Physical Strength: Medium Work; exerting up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and/or up to20 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. constantly.

Working Hours:

Monday - Friday: 8:00am to 5:00pm
