MT Book Co. is seeking two part-time booksellers. The ideal candidates will:

• Have an insatiable curiosity and enthusiasm towards the world of books.
• Read expansively across genres, regularly.
• Have retail and customer service experience; bookselling or other book world experience preferred.
• Prioritize customer service and enjoy talking to customers.
• Must be available one of each of the following per week: an opening, closing and Saturday shift and be able to pick up shifts for evening events as needed.
• Be able to work increased hours and longer shifts during winter holidays including a company wide vacation black out between Thanksgiving and New Years Day.
• Able to work on a sales floor for a whole shift (4-8 hours)

Daily duties include, but are not limited to:

• Interacting with the public nearly constantly in person, by phone, via email
• Maintaining a positive, helpful, and welcoming demeanor
• Maintaining store upkeep including dusting, cleaning, organizing, tidying
• Operating our book-industry specific point of sale system, and financial transactions with accuracy
• Lifting, carrying, and moving heavy items (up to 40 pounds); reaching and bending to high and low shelves

Additional experience with building websites and Canva a bonus but no required.
