*Job Overview*

We are seeking a passionate bookseller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for books and enjoy engaging with customers in a retail environment.

*Duties*

- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers in finding and recommending books.

- Process sales transactions accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.

- Provide information on featured titles.

- Maintain a clean and organized store environment.

- Assist in receiving and shelving new inventory, which will require physical activity (i.e., repetitive bending, lifting, climbing).

- Get the store ready for opening/closing each day. Clean store at closing (sweep, mop, wipe down all surfaces and windows).

- Keep the store tidy and presentable through the workday.

- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing bookstore events, including author readings, book launches, and community gatherings.

*Qualifications*

- Previous experience in retail sales, preferably in a bookstore setting

- Proficiency in cash handling and basic math skills

- Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while multitasking effectively

- Passion for reading and ability to sell the joy of books to customers

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.17 - $13.13 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
