A unique opportunity to work at legendary independent bookstore, Vroman's Bookstore!

A.C. Vroman, Inc. based in Pasadena seeks to hire a Bookseller at our Colorado Blvd.* This is a non-exempt full-time position*, 32+ hours a week. Evening and weekend availability required.

The Bookseller responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Working flexible opening/closing shifts
• Maintaining assigned book sections
• Work a daily schedule of assignments including dusting, vacuuming, POS, creating displays, and unpacking boxes.
• Answering customer calls
• Taking special orders for books
• Inventory book sections
• Hand sell book and gift items
• Assist with monthly returns
• Assist in event hosting including children's story time and craft events
• Attend and participate staff meetings as scheduled
• Provide good judgement and demonstrate concern for satisfying needs of customers
• Work off-site events as needed to support Vroman's promotions and events
• Other duties assigned

The ideal applicant is approachable, positive, hard-working, detail oriented, self-motivated, and is in love with literature and well read. Some knowledge of Children's books is recommended but not required. Additionally, we are looking for a person who is a team player, who will make a difference in the day to day operations of the store and is passionate about making Vroman's the best part of everyday.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.65 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
