Position Details:

  • Bookstore Coordinator
  • Pay Range: $22.00 - $25.00 Hourly
  • Full-Time, Non-Exempt
  • 40 hours per week (Schedule: Monday through Friday, potentially some Saturday mornings as well) 
  • Fully Onsite Position in Hayward, CA

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Sell Point-of Sale (POS) and Online inventory
  • Operate the cash register and make change.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, including but not limited to dusting and straightening shelves.
  • Maintain inventory and keep store shelves stocked.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Plan and execute orders of merchandise through approved vendors.
  • Receive inventory and enter into POS system.
  • Perform periodic inventory counts; reconcile and resolve discrepancies to POS system.
  • Write purchase orders, requisitions, monthly reports, and other back office tasks.
  • Oversee print shop operations and coordinate with other College departments on project design work.
  • Oversee online bookstore sales, operations, and order fulfillment.
  •  Supervise and manage student workers and other part-time staff.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of general clerical/retail experience.
  • Experience in running a cash register, handling cash, and making change.
  • Excellent customer service attitude.
  • Must be reliable, dependable, and able to work independently.
  • Maintain professionalism with students and colleagues.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Shopify® POS for Retail and E-Commerce (preferred)
  • Familiarity with UPS, USPS, and FedEx shipping.
  • Familiarity with all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
