An exciting opportunity has now arisen for the right candidate to come and manage London’s coolest hidden book store, a treasure trove for book fans that will be launching at the top of HMV’s iconic 363 Oxford Street in mid November. .

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of the bookshop, together with having responsibility for range development in conjunction with the head office commercial team.

This role reports to the Flagship Store Manager. This role is ideal for a book lover keen to put their stamp on a project with a great deal of go-forward potential.

Key responsibilities will include :

● Liaising with the Commercial Team to ensure the correct range of product is ordered for the New bookshop

● Exemplary product knowledge across all book genres

● In collaboration with the Flagship Store Manager, you have responsibility for delivering sales and employment targets

● Fully conversant with our merchandising standards (OMS) in order to deliver commercial best practice.

● Communicate all book shop targets to colleagues so that they are fully engaged to maximise performance.

● Maximise the performance of your team by recognising talent, coaching and empowering them to reach their full potential and to facilitate succession planning as appropriate.

● Create a positive working environment to support and sustain team engagement.

● Ensure all processing and returns are managed according to Company policy and specific instructions and deadlines.

● Support the close monitoring of Your Store Expectations (YSE) and ensure that these are signed off on a daily or weekly basis as appropriate.

● In partnership with the Flagship Store Manager, create a customer service culture within your bookstore. Maintain high standards in customer service at all times in line with the Customer Service Commitment and Super 6 standards. Ensure customers are the number one priority for all members of your team.

● With the Flagship Store Manager, ensure that you fully understand, implement and support the Company’s Loss Prevention and Health and Safety policies and procedures to reduce risk and loss.

● Ensure that all colleagues support the delivery of a visual shop floor deterrent via a customer service approach in order to identify and reduce the opportunity for external theft.
